Description

Civilization and perhaps humanity itself was born of fire, and it, of the rubbing of two pieces of wood. Lighting the fire symbolizes the creation par excellence.

The name “Sacador de Fuego” refers to a person that takes the pieces out of the fire. The Sacador de Fuego is a person who produces, develops and ends a jewel. It is a modeler, smelter, stone setter and goldsmith. He has a broad knowledge of the basic and related manufacturing jewelry techniques.

Initiation to jewelry is very important, it is the foundation on which a good development of this art is built. It requires fostering awareness with intention to achieve a dialogue between metal and our hands. In the course, a series of exercises will be carried out that will give the student this important beginning.

The course is a continuous and combined Prototyping or Modeling program, in which different types of exercises are developed and elaborated. You will get the technical foundations to develop the art of jewelry. It is a personalized course, the teacher guides your development individually. They work in a common space, sharing with other students.

Goals

Learn the basic techniques of jewelry making and becoming initiated in techniques such as Lost Wax Casting, Wax Modeling, Silversmithing, Constructing Tools, Forging, Anticlastic, Chasing and Repoussé , Engraving, Mokume Gane, Mokujama, Kum Boo, Technical Textiles in Metal.

Knowledge of tools and their use, Casting Techniques, Rolling, stretching and drawing techniques, Cutting techniques, Welding techniques, Precision volume construction, Surface finishing techniques, Joints, rivets and locking, Development of a hollow ring, Lace and Invisible Welding, Wax Modelling, Lost Wax Casting, Hand Engraving, Stone Setting, Metal Forming, Chasing / Repoussé, Textile Techniques and Planning a collection.

    An intensive year of basic techniques and specialization courses.
    10 months: 6 modules in 42 weeks.
    4 weekly classes of 3 hours each (504 hours)
    9 hours of free workshop per week (378 hours)

    * Because the classes are personalized, the advancement will be set by the student, these timings are approximate.
    ** It is not mandatory to do the two years, the study time is suggested to obtain a broader knowledge of jewelry production techniques.
