It is not necessary to have a knowledge of jewelry to take this course, open to all those interested who want to learn how to apply color to metal pieces and other materials.

Description

The patinas are a type of reactive coloration, they are colors that develop in the metal from a chemical reaction, this can occur with the natural oxidation of the metal by contact with air and humidity, caused by chemical elements or with the application of heat.

It is not mandatory to register for all sessions, each one will develop a different technique, thus giving the option of taking the entire course or only the sessions that are desired. It’s up to you!

Contents

Sesion 1
Theoretical introduction on types of patinas and how to apply them. We will learn how to prepare different formulas and we will make a color chart on copper and brass.

Sesion 2
We will learn to correctly oxidize copper, brass, and silver. How to whiten silver and we will work with patina applied to silver.

Sesion 3
In this session we will work patinas with heat and we will end by discovering the different ways to apply the patinas: overlapping, reserves and textures.
