Mokume – grain (wood) / Gane – metal
It is a technique, of mixed-metal laminate with no soldering, with the finality of obtaining singular patterns and colorations in jewellery designs. The name comes from the similarity with natural wood grains. It is a technique of japanese origin, used 300 years ago for the creation of sword cases and handles.
To make pieces with materials composed of different metals without the use of soldering, fusing different metal sheets together, to form a block with “grains”.
Preparation of the metal sheets. Creation of a block fusing the sheets together using pressure and heat. Manipulation of the block obtained that will allow you to form pieces of extraordinary personality.
Intensive course of 24 hours.
You can start in any moment of the year from october to July.
